This is the copy of the famous icon “Our Lady of Perpetual Help”. The earliest written version of the image comes from a Latin and Italian plaque placed in the church of San Matteo in Via Merulana where it was first venerated by the public in 1499. The writer of the icon is unknown. A special way of honouring the Blessed Virgin Mary is directly related to the way through daily prayer on the rosary. The icon illustrates the sacred secrets of Christ's life: joyful (Child Jesus), grieving (cross, an instrument of passions) and glorious (golden background of icons). Pray for the help in life's tribulations and trials, the happy union of those who are in separation, the lonely and abandoned people, the healing of the spiritual and bodily infirmities.
In our production of icons, we employ original techniques dating back to ancient monasteries including those of the monastery of St. Pantaleon, always using the best possible tools. Our icons are created on a traditional wooden base and are set in levkas, a chalk-based natural glue and background. The icon is printed on a silk canvas. A high-quality icon, with bright colours and the icon, seems like a hand-painted icon. cons that are made in our workshop all come with a certificate, attesting to their originality and the authenticity of our technology. The certificate is a guarantee of the high and long-standing quality of our icons.
